Product Description
Many people demand the flexibility and convenience of using multiple speakers throughout the house - even outdoors. If you hook up more than one speaker pair to your amplifier, however, the impedance (ohms) may drop to a dangerously low level, stressing your amp beyond its limits, causing circuitry damage or shutdown. You may avoid this potential nightmare by connecting your speakers to a multiple speaker selector. However, ordinary speaker selectors can also degrade system performance. Although they use a resistor "in series" to protect your amp from low impedance loads, these ordinary inductive resistors can cause noticeable high frequency loss, so you hear less detailed music reproduction. The power rating is often low, potentially damaging your speaker selector if you're using a high current amplifier.

5 out of 5 stars Monster 6 Speaker Selector   June 9, 2010
Tacoolove (San antonio)
Heavy Duty . Well Built. Must use speaker pins to hook speaker wire to the selector. 3 polk c speakers inside 3 outside. Sound is great reguardless of how many on at one time. All speaker selectors are not the same. Have one from Radio Shack and the music highs n lows would suck and the more speakers used, well you know, more sucking.Monster Cable SS-6 Speaker Switcher for 6 Pairs of Speakers

5 out of 5 stars Works as expected   March 16, 2010

I've had this thing for quite a while now and it still works perfectly. Sound is good. Volume on each speaker decreases as you turn more speakers on, but how could it not (it's not an amp)? Bought it used too! Can't believe I didn't get this much sooner!

5 out of 5 stars Does The Job Just Fine!   November 6, 2009

I read several reviews on this product, and the biggest complaint was the connection of the wires to the rear. If you read the description it clearly states it is designed to use with Monster's connectors (which are extremely easy to use). In conjunction with these connectors, the unit works fine and I have had no problems. I have also not experienced any loss in sound by dividing the signal into multiple speakers. If you attempt to cut corners and do not purchase the proper connectors, you will hate this product and probably send it back. The choice is yours. One thing I will mention, this unit while advertised as new had been sold before (I could tell by the packaging). The condition of the unit was fine and I experienced no problems because of it - so I didn't bother replacing it. It must have come from someone who didn't purchase the connectors! :)

2 out of 5 stars Only Single Input, not what the manual shows   October 16, 2009

Before buying this I downloaded the manufacturer's manual from their website [...] The pictures show that this device has 2 left\right inputs, for your front and back channels. It only has one ! so be careful. So it's basically one-input to six-outputs, so it may be good for an old stereo but not for a home theatre

I didn't even test it since it wasn't what I needed, so I can't judge the quality of the device.
