Seems I'm just another with the typical problem - the DVD plays partway through, then freezes. Even brand-new DVDs will freeze in this way, so the disc isn't the problem. The video and sound quality are fine, but since you can't play a whole movie, the player doesn't meet basic requirements.
Since I bought it as a gift for my father, by the time I gave it to him, found out about the problem and so on, it was past the 90 day warranty period, so it goes into the garbage.

Bought this in 7/2009, had issues from start where it would freeze up in middle of movies and have to be re-booted. Highly tempermental!! For some reason lost ability to hold a charge after limited use about 3 months into it. At 5 months wouldn't work for more than a minute or two, keeps stating it's "out of battery" even when plugged in by AC or car adapter! Would be a nice unit, if it worked!
