Good, for the price June 26, 2010 Chase Hendrix I wanted this system but at the time it was 249.99, so i went with a Philips model (Philips HTS3372D) that was priced around 179.99.
I went to target last week and saw that they had lowered the DAV-HDZ273 to 124.99 for clearance to make room for this years model.
Being as this one was the one i wanted in the first place, i promptly purchased it, and was eager to get it home. I canceled all plans for the day and hooked it up because i was so excited. Hook up was pretty easy, and in 10-15 minutes i had it all hooked up in my room. It took me a while to get sound to come through all speakers, but after i played with the decoders and settled with pro logic 2 movie it worked pretty well.
Now, in comparison with the Philips HTS3372D, the DAV-HDZ273 looks sleeker, has more attractive speakers, and has a WAY better sub woofer. However the Philips HTS3372D in my opinion had louder satellite speakers, part of the reason being each one has 20 more watts to them. All in all I prefer this system, because it is far more attractive and for what the speakers lack in mids, the sub makes up for it in lows.
The Philips HTS3372D will either be given to my dad for a late fathers day gift or to my buddy for his bachelor pad.
I had the Philips HTS3372D since January 2010, in case any one was curious how long i used that one for my comparisons.

Great sound and easy set up. Was very disappointed that it held only one CD/DVD. I thought 3-5 was just about standard on most units and didn't even think to check. I prefer to put in 5 CDs/DVDs, hit shuffle and that to me is Home entertainment.
Home theatres March 25, 2010 Shawn R. Whitcomb This product delivers for the price. This unit comes with an ipod charger/cradle which was cool to just set the ipod in there and listen to my music. I hooked it up to my home theatre projector and rocks the room in real surround sound. What can I say? Sony delivers as usual.
Great for the price! March 16, 2010 CalicoRuby (VA) This Sony Home Theater System was a birthday gift for my husband. It took him awhile to get it installed, but once he did, he loves it. The sound is great. Makes a big difference with the volume on our TV. He turns it up to hear the full effect and I can hear it through out the house. I would definitely recommend it.
Great System March 14, 2010 J. Reed This is a great system at a great price. Being I am not tech savvy the remote took a little getting used to, but the system was easy to set up. The sound is great! When I mentioned to my coworkers that I had purchased this system, they immediately wanted me to order one for them also. I have bought 3 of these and the feedback has been totally positive.
