2 out of 5 stars Did I make a Mistake?   June 29, 2009

I bought the FLM-2632 back in 2006 from Circuit city. At the time they were going for just under $[...], which was pretty good since comparable LCD's of the size were going for over thousand. Now I wish I would have spent a little extra money.

There were a lot of great things about this TV that I enjoyed, despite it's flaws, but that doesn't really matter, now that it barely functions.

The only reason I gave this TV 2 stars is because, while it worked, it did have really nice picture quality. HD channels looked really nice, and better than some I see walking around Costco still.

Here's some things you may notice along the way.

First off, when I was setting it up, I noticed how many times I had to hit buttons on the remote before it would do what I was instructing it to do, or how often it would do something I didn't tell it to do. Not too big a deal considering I noremally use the cable remote anyhow.

So I got the hang of using the buttons on the side of the TV instead of the remote to adjust the input when going to DVD or XBOX.

The next thing that I noticed was the crackling of the sound. I couldn't stand it and even when I plugged in my headphones and listened that way, it continued to crackle and pop. So I rerouted my audio cables directly from the cable box or DVD player etc. to the stereo receiver which took care of the problem, but now I have to use the stereo remote to control the volume when watching DVD's or playing XBOX.

So I got used to that too.

Now the TV shuts off intermittently for no apparent reason and won't turn back on for a minute or so when the red light comes back on. It happened once or twice within a week, then to once or twice a day. Now I can barely finish a movie without it turning off 3 or four times.

Contacted Polaroid, they say somethings wrong with the power supply. I'm no longer under warranty. Guess I'm buying a new TV. Can you guess what kind I'm not buying?

The only reason I gave this TV 2 stars is because, while it worked, it did have really nice picture quality. HD channels looked really nice, and better than some I see walking around Costco still.

2 out of 5 stars Good TV, when it's working. Horrible customer service   July 23, 2007

I got one in January. I've had to call Polaroid's customer service 5 or 6 times for it freezing, and ultimately not turning on. They told me a service person would call, and a month later I called them to find out what was going on, and they had no record of me calling. They finally shipped me the module it needed but didn't tell me anything else. I put it in myself, and the tv is now working, but they still haven't called me. I will never spend any money on a Polaroid prduct, and am glad I didn't pay for this one.

I wanted a 25 + inch LCD TV on tight budget and this was the obvious choice. I am happy with the TV. The colors and sound is good. I connected it with my Windows XP MCE and it's awesome. The picture-in-picture will not play two channels from TV. It has to be two different inputs like, TV and video or computer etc.
