Product Description The D52W20 RCA 52" Diagonal HDTV Monitor will let you experience television on a new level. Movies will have a smooth film-like appearance with the Progressive Scan functionality. Intellifocus Digital Auto Convergence and 3D Y/C Digital Frame Comb Filter further enhance the picture so you can enjoy the sharpest image possible. This television includes the latest connectivity - DVI Input with HDCP. DVI-HDTV allows transmission of (uncompressed digital) video signals from a set-top box to a digital TV. Dolby Virtual uses the television's left and right speakers to simulate surround sound and create a "live performance" experience. Movies and television programs will never be the same once you've experienced an RCA Digital Television.
Amazon.com Product Description RCA's 52-inch-diagonal D52W20 widescreen HDTV monitor gives you a smooth, filmlike image when used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box). This projection set includes the latest connectivity: a DVI input with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), which allows transmission of uncompressed digital video signals from an HDTV set-top box (not included) to the D52W20. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Both of the set's high-definition (1080i/480p) component-video inputs benefit from the Syncroscan system, which automatically performs high-resolution pixel mapping from sources up to SXGA resolution. The resulting screen image has excellent clarity from the highest-resolution sources. Intellifocus auto digital convergence is a menu-accessible feature that automatically optimizes convergence for the sharpest picture possible. The D52W20's 3D Y/C digital frame comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line). A dedicated subwoofer output lets you hook up a powered subwoofer (no audio/video receiver required) to beef up the low-end for home-theater thumping. Virtual Dolby simulates surround sound from the set's stereo speakers.

Best TV Ever! September 26, 2009 A. M. Schinske (New Mexico) My parents bought this same TV back in 2003 for a song at a brick and mortar store. It's now 2009 and the TV still works great. I've never had any problems with it. It works great with the cable line and my computer, has beautiful sound (I adore the Magic setting. It makes you think you have surround sound in your living room!) and nice, clear picture.
I'd definitely buy it again!
Great TV with NO problems for us. January 3, 2009 Anne (Rural NC United States) Had this TV for about 3 to 4 years now. We have never had any problems with it. I love that its easy to move around. I can just pull it out and clean behind it. My old TV was so heavy. The picture is great and the color is true to color. I give it 5 stars.
Great Deal on a Low Budget! November 26, 2007 Acid Workz 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would normally have given this a 4 star rating, but the value bumps it up too five. No this is not the best TV money can buy. There are several $1500+ tvs that are alot better, but for it's price you would be hard presse to find something much better. It does 480p&1080i which is good for a normal tv watcher. This is not a videophyles TV. It does have DVI Two Component and Two SVIDEO/RCA hookups. You can hook it up to your computer (although it will take some effort) I have had my TV for about 3 years now and paid only $500 for it used. It still looks as good as when I bought it. XBOX 360 games are awesome on this thing! the speakers on it are good, though I never use them since I have surround sound. The viewing angle is decent. It has front S-Video/RCA hookups. If you are determined you can find the code to input to fine tune thi thing. I believe that with the TV off,(let me check)... well I don't remember but it is like hold power and menu for 10 seconds or some combination of buttons. Google it. Anyway the TV is good forthe money, Id go so far as to say it is GREAT for the money!
Great HDTV June 6, 2006 RALHB (Huntington Beach) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had my RCA D40W20 for 2 years and it has performed flawlessly! Great HD picture not too bad with SD either. Sounds like I must have received the only working unit! Mine too came from Dishnetwork as a give away for buying their HD-DVR. No complaints with my RCA HDTV. Now, if you want to talk about Dishnetwork, I have many there...
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! May 31, 2006 Emily A. Hendrickson (dayton, ohio United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought this thinking it would be great.......After 4 months the hdvi and component inputs would not work, then no picture at all. TV repairman got here quickly, wish i could say the same for the part that needs replaced. Thomson/RCA customer service doesn't care...told me the part will get there when it gets there. Four weeks now and earliest delivery date is still 2 weeks away. Thomson/RCA customer service said they would get in touch with me after a global search for the part was conducted, that was 8 days ago. Turns out this is a huge problem for this TV. I've talked to 4 other people, all had the same problem. Save your money and yourself try and find a different HDTV.
